Motivation ~ Found

I have had a fantastic week! I feel GREAT!

Over the past several weeks, or months, rather, I have been struggling with my motivation. Not only in my running, but with life in general. I can't blame this lack of motivation on one particular reason, just a combination of things, I guess. I will spare you the details. This week I found my motivation... So,what is it that motivates me?

***New music on my ipod...right now, it is Lady Gaga. Needless to say, she is a "fascinating" woman. But every song has a great beat, I have been running faster. I have actually been getting up at the butt-crack of dawn to go running! OUTSIDE! I know, shocker, huh? Winter running for me is usually on a treadmill, but since I live in the desert, why not go out, it's a balmy 37 in the mornings...BTW, I don't know how you Canadians get out there and run in the cold everyday!

***The scale going down...I have lost a few pounds this week. Yay me! I have been eating better, which is making me feel better. I have cut bread out of my diet and I am eating more fruits and veggies. Common sense stuff, really.

***You, my Bloggy friends...reading your posts is motivating for me, I may not always leave a comment, but please know that you are all an inspiration to me! Thanks! a Disco Stick really what I think it is??? ( ;

Hello 2010

My name is Stacey, and I am a runner. My last run was two weeks ago...

I hit the 1000 mile mark for 2009 and then I guess I let life get in the way. Very unlike me with my running, AND to top it off last Saturday as I was getting ready to go on my run, I bent down to pull up my running tights and when I stood back up my SI joint was out. So, I spent the rest of the day in bed. Had a quacky house call chiropractor come on Sunday morning, and I don't think he got it back in all the way, although most of the pain was gone. On Tuesday and Wednesday, I went to a real chiropractor. Good as new!

I ran 10 miles yesterday to celebrate 2010! Thank you RunnerMom for the idea! I felt great, it was a beautiful day. My back started getting really tight a little past the 8 mile mark, so I stopped several times to stretch my hamstrings...they are the culprit! But it felt good to be out there again. I am so excited for this new year. I love a clean slate!
My fitness goals for the year are to:

*Run 15-17+marathons~ if I am going to get my 40 by 40 done I better get crackin'! I have 18 months~and 27 marathons...I think I can, I think I isn't a matter of the actual running of the races, I know I can do that! It's the financial part of it all...
*Eat clean
*Lose fat/gain muscle
*Go to the gym~this one is hard for me. I really do like working out, I just like doing it in the privacy of my own home! We don't have room for our equipment right now, it is all in pieces in the garage...grrr

I'm heading out in a bit to run 5 miles, I love running in the desert!
