What's Holding You Back?

"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not." ~unknown

I love this quote! I have been thinking about it a lot lately, and how everything we do in life is based on our attitude. I have noticed that when I am not positive about something, it just doesn't seem to work right or I get frustrated...but on the flip side of that, thinking positive...ANYTHING is possible!

I have been trying to stay positive about a lot of things going on right now in my life. It seems like when I have control over one area of my life (right now it is working out/eating right), the rest of my life is in chaos...my house is a mess, I don't know what I am going to cook for dinner... the list goes on, so I will spare you the details... But why can't I just get it all together? This is what I will be working on!

I am going to do another trial run on Monday and if it goes well I will ease myself back into the running...you know 8 miles a day...( : Just kidding.

We are having a huge garage sale tomorrow and Saturday. Wish us luck to get rid of all our junk and hopefully make some money off of it!

Almost There!

This past week has been relatively productive..even though I took the entire week off from running...I still worked out everyday. I worked my legs hard, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They are getting strong! I am trying to stay positive with the no running thing..it really is killing me to not be hitting that pavement, but I am actually seeing muscle growth, not only in my legs but my abs as well, I really do have obliques! ( :

I did go for a short 3 mile test run this morning. It felt good to run again, but there is still a darn twinge in my left leg...dang it! Some more rest, I guess.
Have a great weekend!

Mistakes....

Yes, I found my mojo...I just found it too much...let me explain. Since living in Hawaii, my running has been lacking. Not running as many miles, my runs have been hit and miss over the past several months. I ran the Mesquite marathon in November with running no more than 20 miles total in the 4 weeks prior...then I ran the LV marathon with even less...and to top that off, I hadn't been doing a lot of strength training for these wheels of mine. So, finding my mojo has been a real blessing, but I have been running way too much...6 days a week, I haven't been able to get enough. You see where I am going with this don't you? The last few days I have had a weird twinge in my left tibia...feels like a stress fracture could be lurking in there somewhere...so I am being forced to lay off the running a bit...frustrating, yes. I know better and I have just been dumb. Even seasoned runners make stupid mistakes, well, maybe not all of them, but this one sure did. So, where do I go from here? Well, taking a few days off is the start. We cleaned out our garage, and the hubby set up the weight equipment...WOOHOO! I have most of my gym back. So I will be working hard to strengthen my legs and I will not make that mistake again! I have been fracture free for over 10 years and I really don't want another one..EVER!

I am still feeling great about my weight loss efforts and looking forward to this next week!

I had 3 chocolate covered strawberries tonight...yummy!!!! My first treat in weeks! And worth every calorie! Happy Valentine's Day!~

My Lucky Day

Today was my lucky day! I found a dollar bill while running this morning. I rarely see more than a penny...so, of course, I stopped and picked it up! Treat! I had to put it in my panties, for lack of a pocket, and I felt a little like a stripper... without the oogling...hehehehe.

I ran 3 fast miles. I have run everyday this week and it has been a fabulous week. I'm down 2 more pounds! I am so glad to have my "mojo" back! Running has become fun again and I am looking forward to the upcoming months and the progress I will make.

And another lucky thing....I won 3 hands in our family Uno game...that never happens! ( :

Have a great weekend!
