...or 'runners' as they are called at my house. When I first started running many years ago, I thought Saucony was the shoe for me. But after 3 stress fractures, I went to
Salt Lake Running Company and they had me run on a treadmill to do the pronation/supination test...and their recomendation was the Asics Kayano! At the time I was a bit skeptic, I thought, yeah, sure, the most expensive shoe in the store...I bought them anyway and there has been a love affair between us ever since! The Kayanos have been with me through thousands of miles and all 10 of my marathons. They really are awesome shoes!
The other night my husband and I went to the new James Bond movie (good flick) and after I wanted to go into Sports Authority, they often have a good sale on the Kayanos and since I am in great need of a new pair, we went in....my heart just about leaped out of my chest! $59.99 for my beloved Kayanos (last year's model of course) but not one in my size (probably because I bought them all at the last sale) Oh, the disappointment!
So yesterday I ordered this pair from
Zappos. Aren't they great! I love a new pair of runners!!

I just bought my first pair of Asics as well. They are the Cumulus model. They were a recommendation from my Pod. so I went with it.
I hope they work as well for me as they have for you!
I have tried many different shoes and I have settled on Asics for good. They last the longest and they don't give me any problems. I go with the 2100 series.
I usually run in Mizuno's but this last pair I bought were Asics... I have to say they have made me happy, except it took SEVERAL runs to break the left one in. It kept rubbing a blister on the inside of my foot. UGH..... all better now.
I have yet to dinf the "perfect" shoe for me... I've been through Saucony, Brooks and now Mizuno. Maybe I'll check out Asics. next. Enjoy your new ones!
I'm running in those as well. Love the colors on the pair you just got!
I don't recall Vegas being that windy. I just know it was WAY colder than they said the average temp would be.
I started out with Sauconys, too! I don't know why, but I really wanted them to suit me. Too bad! So disappointing not to have your size on sale-- BUT, now you have a package to look forward to!
I was also an Asic Kayano girl but lately I have strayed to Saucony ProGrid Paramount (also super expensive). The Kayano's are bullet proof but I feel more mobile in the Saucony's.
Ohhhh it is so nice to get a deal like that....especially when you can find the same model. They change those things up so fast.
Good luck on the Vegas marathon. It looks like fun.
I've been running for years, and I've yet to find the perfect shoe for me. I'm jealous you've found your soul mate. :o)
I've used Sauconys and Asics, and they're pretty similar to me (at least the models I've used). I wonder if I need a more supportive shoe - I'm a pretty drastic over pronater. Do you use inserts?
