Happy New Year

I have been trying to sit down and post for over a week now, life has been a bit crazy around here...2008 was a great year for me! I had planned to run one marathon, St. George, and ended up running 6!

I ran SLC in April, and was so disappointed with that race that I decided to treat it as a training run for Ogden in May.

Then I thought I should just run three more and I would have 10 marathons completed by the end of the year...In July I ran Deseret News, September it was Top of Utah, and October it was St. George, which I ran in a garbage bag, and got a PR of 4:15. ( :

It was a busy year with training and racing. After St. George, I got the post race blues and needed something new to work toward. My new goal became: Run my 40th marathon by my 40th birthday, giving me 32 months to run 30 marathons. I ran Las Vegas the beginning of December.
2009 holds a lot for me. I need to run at least 12 marathons and here is my schedule (tentative, of course) for the new year:
*January 25~Carlsbad Marathon
*February
*March 29~Moab Marathon???
*April 18~Salt Lake City Marathon
    26~Big Sur Marathon
*May 16~Ogden Marathon
*June 13~Utah Valley Marathon
*July 12~Missoula Marathon
          24~Deseret News Marathon
*August 22~Park City Marathon
*September 12~Little Grand Canyon Marathon
                      19~Top of Utah Marathon
*October 3~St. George
*December~Las Vegas (Rock & Roll bought it, yay!)

I'm trying to do most of my races close to home or where I have a free place to stay to cut down on costs...I am excited for the upcoming year! Thanks to my family and all my running/blogging friends for all the support and encouragement! Happy New Year!

That is an amazing schedule. I feel lazy for just planning my one marathon ;-)

If you want to come to Kentucky, I think the Lousiville Marathon is in Noveember, I noticed you didn't have one for that month. I am planning on running it, and it is only an hour from here. =)

You freaking rock, I am hoping you will achieve your goal. 12 marathons in one year is a lot.

I saw you asked Frayed Laces about the Hilo Marathon... I've run the 1/2 there 3x... Actually it used to be 10.8 but this year it's a half... Anyway, awesome small race. Early start, expect rain but not cold, first 1/2 the most gorgeous runnning ever (little hilly), second half flatter and less interesting as it goes out toward the airport. Definitely recommend! :)

Moving to Kauai? Sweet! I'm not running Hilo since I'm running Boston, but I am planning to run the inaugural Kauai marathon in September---are you?
