I have...

officially run in paradise!

My first run here was just a quick 3 mile run to the end of the path by our house and back...on that path is a scenic overlook of the ocean. All I can say is WOW! I saw whales breaching on my run yesterday.  It was simply amazing! This has to be what heaven is like, running in the warm ocean air, smelling the tropical flowers, hearing the waves crashing on the sand, waking at 3:45 am to wild roosters..there aren't any mongoose on the island of Kauai so the roosters are everywhere! I actually kind of like it. It is part of the experience!

Before my run yesterday, I stubbed my toe and it really hurt, but I went running anyway. When I got home, my sock was completely covered in blood. I have a huge gash in the tip of my toe! I didn't notice a gash before my run! I didn't run this morning because I am afraid it will get infected, cuts don't heal as quickly in this climate. So hopefully it will look and feel better on Monday!

We just got our computers today. We had to go to 3 different Post Offices to get them, and apparently our house doesn't get "home delivery." Who knew?? It is all part of the adventure! I will post more pictures later, haven't downloaded them yet. Aloha!

Seriously Stacey, why run in that when you can enjoy 8 miles on a treadmill because it's snowing and cold and dark, then finish the last 6 in a balmy 40 degrees? But whatever suits your fancy ;)

Sounds so lovely!!!

Amazing! What an awesome thing to be able to experience running in a place most people go for a dream vacation!

Wow! It is gorgeous there. My friend was there this past week and her pics were very similar (even a chicken picture). She ran a 3-miler and a 5-miler on her vacation. She was surprised at the chilliness though. She hadn't brought warm enough clothes.

I'm so, so, so jealous!

I hope your toe heals soon.

LUCKY!

I am so happy for you and jealous for me. ;)
I have been running in HELL... Jk

I think I am going to go a head and run that marathon next week. My sis ran one once with only 16 as a base and I am thinking with this one being so flat and a loop, I should be fine, well, lets hope.

BTW... what does your hubby do that took you to Hawaii?
